If a teacher sends all the problem children to the headmaster's office, then the students will have no respect for that teacher because they are not dealing with the problem themselves. A technique has to be used that the students themselves understand and respect. It has to mean something to the student. The discipline has to deal with the behaviour issues immediately so that the class is disrupted as little as possible, and with a minimum of paperwork and follow up. And of course, any punishment cannot involve physical abuse. Teachers may not hit or even touch their students.
