Teachers salaries could easily be doubled, if they didn't only work 7 months a year and have huge benefits packages. Teachers should have a drastic pay increase, the agrarian calender should be abolished because it is archaic, and teachers union should collectively bargain for insurance plans that teachers can choose and pay for themselves. (personally I trust a union to cut a better deal with big business then the government, so the added money fueled into the teachers salary by not receiving state benefits will be significantly higher then those what those benefits cost)

Teaching should be a profession, so it should be treated like one, but that also means teachers should act like professionals, tenure and 7.5 month school year need to be changed and teachers pay should be doubled
