English schools in Asia

Singapore (Portsdown Road)
School:Tanglin Trust School

Students at Tanglin Trust School, aged between 3 and 18, study an English-based curriculum in our Infant, Junior and Senior Schools.

We currently have more than 2,000 students at Tanglin with approximately 694 in the Infant School, 757 in the Junior School and 745 in our Senior School. Boys and girls in the Infant, Junior and Senior Schools each wear a different style of uniform from our integrated School uniform range.

Infant School students are aged between 3 and 7 and the curriculum they follow is the Foundation Stage followed by Key Stage 1.

Students in our Junior School, aged between 7 and 11, follow Key Stage 2.

Students in our Senior School, including those in the Sixth Form, are aged 11 to 18 years and they study Key Stages 3, 4 and 5.

The Infant, Junior and Senior Schools are located in separate areas of Tanglin and each is overseen by a separate Head Teacher, who specialises in the relevant student ages and developmental stages. These three Head Teachers report directly to Tanglin’s Chief Executive Officer. By working closely together as a team, Tanglin Trust School provides seamless British-based education from the earliest years through to University entrance.

Tanglin Trust School offers world-class learning and sporting facilities in an environment that is highly conducive to student development. The School is situated on Portsdown Road, approximately 15 minutes drive from the west of the city centre, in Singapore's dynamic "one-north" area, a hub for knowledge-driven industries that are set among the heritage and nature areas of Rochester Park, the Wessex Estate and Nepal Hill. Tanglin is easily accessible from Singapore's main residential areas.

The School comprises separate modern buildings for Infant, Junior and Senior School students. There is also a purpose-built Sixth Form Centre, which forms part of the Senior School. Our new six-storey Sports and Performing Arts Complex will be completed by the end of 2007 and our new Central Administration Building was finished in April 2007.

In addition to architect-designed classrooms set around bright and colourful common areas that promote a sense of community, these buildings also feature large multi-purpose assembly and sporting halls, music rooms, suites for the study of Information and Communications Technology, drama studios, science laboratories, libraries, health centres staffed by professional nurses and food service areas.

Other facilities at the School include: an eight-lane 25 metre swimming pool; a learner pool; large outdoor playgrounds; tennis courts; playing fields; a fitness centre; an outdoor chess corner and shaded lunch areas. There is also a spacious staff Café.
