Baantorfun Kindergarten was founded 10 years ago by Mrs. Naricha Vijittassana, because she could not find a proper Kindergarten for her own daughters. (That time most Kindergarten in Thailand treated little children like small adults, seemingly not knowing about principles of early childhood education)

Mrs. Vijittassana started of by rebuilding her own home into a schoolbuilding. She called the school "Baantorfun" which translates into "A home to build dreams". In the beginning she had about ten kids in her little school and did everything by herself. She was the teacher, the nurse, the principal, the manager and even drove the schoolbus. After a while new teachers joined her school and the school grew larger. Convinced, that the size of schools and the amount of children matter to the kids development she kept the school small. She wanted the children to feel like at home. That's how it still is. Investing every penny back into the school it grew bigger, so the children had more space to play and learn. Later she built a swimming pool for the kids too. Now there are four buildings, a fith will be finished at the end of the year. There are 7 classes with about 100 children and 14 teachers. And there are three playgrounds, a Computer and Music room, a Library, and a Swimming Pool.

There are seven classes at Baantorfun Kindergarten & Nursery. It starts of with our Nursery. In this group we accept children aged 8 month up to 2 years. At Nursery level we develop our kids thru circle activities, fine and gross motor activities, activities to foster creativity, music and movement and indepenent play activities.

Our Pre Kindergarten is home to children aged 2 years to 3 years.Kids in this group start to learn the Thai and English Alphabet and numbers. Overall we try to improve their Physical, Emotional, Intelligence and Social Development.

At Kindergarten level children aged 3years to 6 years learn how to read and write Thai and English. Also they learn Math, Art, Computer and Swimming. There are three classes at Kindergarten level divided by age. Kindergarten 1 (age 3-4 years), Kindergarten 2 (age 4-5 years) and Kindergarten 3 (age 5-6 years).

Last but not least we have our Home School. In our Home School are our own children and some of their friends are learning on Primary and Secondary level. This Home School is one of the first in Thailand and nearly 20 % of all home schooled children in Thailand learn here.
