Kaohsiung American School (KAS) is a private, non-profit Pre-K - 12 institution with 330 students offering college preparatory programs leading to a U.S. high school diploma. It is located in Kaohsiung, a city of 1.5 million in southwestern Taiwan.

KAS was established in 1989 and is accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC) in California, USA.

The Kaohsiung American School has been serving the greater Kaohsiung community since 1989. Presently, we have 330 students enrolled in our PreK-Grade 12 program with students from 28 different nationalities represented.

KAS is a non-profit, college preparatory private school with an American curriculum modeled on stateside standards and learner objectives. Through our Curriculum Council and the greater KAS faculty, our programs are annually upgraded and strengthened to prepare our students for challenging study in the finest of stateside colleges and universities. Within this highly academic environment, it is also our desire to build upon diversity among students, teachers, and teaching styles.
