In this article I will be writing about my trip to Malaysia in 2007 and the best places that I visited along the way.

Kuala Lumpur - The capital of Malaysia, and a majestic one at that. We arrived at night and across the skyline we could see the legendary The Pertonas Towers lit up in the distance. The next day we went to visit said towers and learned that they are two of the tallest buildings in the entire world! We managed to get up to the sky-bridge about halfway up, and the view from there was incredible.

Taman Nagara National Park - To get here we needed to take a 2 hour boat ride down a river ('Apocalypse Now' style). Once we reached the rainforest we saw one of the most beautiful places on earth; as thick jungles crossed rolling fog. Our next day saw us venture deep into the rainforest and take on The Canopy Walkway, which is basically a rope bridge across the top of the tree-line.

Tioman Islands - I must say I'm a little bit biased towards this place as it's where I celebrated my 21st birthday. Upon arrival I thought I'd found paradise - sandy white beaches and clear blue seas spread across the front of a thick jungle. The entire population of this small island (which can't have been more than a few hundred) lives entirely on the beach-front. We were told upon arrival not to venture back into the jungle behind as there were tigers, snakes and other dangerous animals that we wouldn't want to meet. The whole place had a real 'feel-good' vibe, and many Malaysians used it as a relaxing getaway.
