On November 20th every year, all pupils and students around Vietnam celebrate a meeting to congratulate their teachers. This is the opportunity for students to express their sincere thanks to those who have taught them. This is a long traditional custom of Vietnamese people. On this day, students show their deep gratitude for those they respect. They sing the praise of their teachers’ merit and say all the best wishes to them. Beautiful flowers are the precious rewards to show their love.

In Vietnam, teaching is considered as the most precious job out of all other precious job. Why so? The reason is simple, a teacher has a great influence on student generation. Their human behavior, their life style, their career, their working method also affect their students. Teacher is a bright mirror for students. In Vietnamese thinking, teacher is also the second mother. They have responsibilities as a mother in school, take care the children in school. Nowadays, students spend nearly the whole day in school, from the morning till night, the time they spend with their teachers even longer than they spend with their parents. Therefore, the role of the teacher is not only the schoolman but also a friend who can share with their students both joy and sorrow.

Nowadays, Vietnamese teacher’s day is also the chance for the parents show their care to the people who take time to train their sons and daughters. To Vietnamese people, this is a big real festive day.

I am proud of being trained as a teacher. Although, now I’m not a teacher, I work in tourism field, but the way of life style as a teacher has gone with me till the end of my life.
