Travel, Teach, Live in China
Hey Eric,
I am living in Harbin now, and myself have an affliation for pubs, tho not so much the discos and KTVs... however, i have been to quite a selection to date, and this to say:
- have not found a single pub yet, or at least one that I would call a pub. the best drinking (and actually, meeting people) spots are the beer gardens that open up in summer.. open concept, with park tables & benches, with cheap beer (lots of it), surrounded by stalls selling kebabs and a host of other delicious things, some animal, some vegetable.
- lots of lounge-like places, some appearing like an english pub but that's just the decor.. loud music, and the highlights are the brief appearances of the russian troupes! some troupes have strippers which are a hit.
- KTVs are mind-boggling... high-tech, very expensive and catering for high-end clientele. not my scene... lots of girls, and you get parades..
hope this helps..
cheers
tony
