Travel, Teach, Live in China
I am compiling an ESL Black-List for China, of all the schools, recruiters and websites that are known to be dishonest or fraudulent.
The list will contain schools that renege on contracts, change provisions, don't provide visas, force extra hours without pay, treat teachers badly, etc. It will include unlicensed schools and those who recruit for them. You know the drill.
I need you to contribute any personal experiences that would qualify for such a measure as being black-listed. This is not a trivial matter, so I DO NOT want second-hand stories or unsubstantiated rumour. I need real things reported by those to whom they happened.
Along with your description of the problems, please provide the name and location of the school and any contact information like names, website URLs and email addresses.
PLEASE pass the word in whatever way you can. Let your colleagues know, and encourage them to contribute. If you visit other ESL sites, please copy and post this message or at least provide a link to it. This information will have little value if its existence is unknown.
I cannot do this by myself, and I'm not doing it for myself. The accumulated information will be posted permanently on my website at bearcanada.com to ease the way for all those who come after us. Please help as much as you're able.
Send all emails on this topic to larry@bearcanada.com
Thanks
