The project is run in the city of Suzhou, a city with over 2,500 years of rich history which is renowned for it’s gardens, canals, silk and embroidery. Suzhou is 27 minutes to Shanghai by train, and has a population of 8 million. Travel around Suzhou is cheap and convenient by taxis, buses or the subway. Alternatively you can cycle around the city as the locals do, and experience the traditional culture alongside the modern amenities. Those who have worked for the program in the past have expressed that Suzhou is a great city to live and work in, the salary is sufficient for the cost of living and with free weekends and a good amount of holidays they were able to make the most of their time overseas with travel and new experiences.

About the School

Classes are around 40-45 in size and students are typically well disciplined and respectful of teachers. In terms of contractual responsibilities you will be required to be at the school from Monday to Friday, 8am-3pm or 9am-4pm (depending on your school placement). You will teach a maximum of 14 hours per week, with each class being 40-45mins long. You will be contracted from 1st Sept to 30th June with some additional training at the start to help equip you with the necessary skills.

Any previous experience working with children will be valuable but is not required.
