Yew Chung International School of Beijing (YCIS-Beijing) has been in operation since the beginning of the 1995-96 academic year. Since its inception, it has experienced rapid growth and development, and today serves more than 500 students from over 30 countries in Early Childhood Education (starting at age 2) to Year 13 (Grade 12).

The distinctive nature of our school lies in the strength of the bilingual curriculum we offer. Students experience the best of East and West through our curriculum, which combines the National Curriculum for England with our own highly refined Chinese Language and Culture curriculum. Highly qualified and experienced teachers deliver the curriculum throughout the school. In the Early Childhood Education and Primary sections, teachers utilize a co-teaching approach with a Chinese and Western teacher working collaboratively in each classroom. In the Secondary section, students are prepared to sit for external examinations authorized by the Cambridge University Examination Center. In Year 11, students may sit for the International General Certificate of Secondary Education, and in Year 13, for the YCIS diploma. Other external examinations are also available.

The Western and Chinese teachers plan cooperatively and work together integrating both cultures in their classrooms. A unified curriculum links Yew Chung international schools in Hong Kong, Beijing, Shanghai, Chongqing and Silicon Valley (USA).

Located in Beijing's scenic Honglingjin Park, YCIS-Beijing is well equipped with two computer laboratories, three science laboratories, an English as an Additional Language (EAL) center, an Intensive English Programme (IEP) center, libraries in the Early Childhood Education, Primary and Secondary sections, a gymnasium, a cafeteria, and outdoor activity and play areas. In addition, other sports facilities located in close proximity to the school are also utilized. These include a sports stadium, two swimming pools and a natural grass field.
