Hubei University is located in Wuhan,

the capital of Central China’s Hubei Province. Its more than seven-decade development turns Hubei University into a key comprehensive university covering arts, history, philosophy, science, engineering, economics, law, management, education, and medicine. ?

Hubei University offers at its main campus 46 undergraduate (bachelor degree) courses, 42 postgraduate (master degree) courses and 3 doctoral courses in twelve faculties: Arts, History and Culture, Resource and Environment, Business, Law, Mathematics and Computer Science, Life Science, Physics and Electronic Engineering, Chemistry and Material Science, Education, and Foreign Studies, and one department: Philosophy. The main campus also includes Adult Education College and International School.

There are 28 research institutes and centers, plus two national centers.

Hubei University has its origin in 1931, starting from what was then Hubei Provincial College of Education.
