Guangzhou Civil Aviation College (GCAC) is a general, full-time, higher vocational college, which is under the administration of the CAAC (Civil Aviation Administration of China). It has been approved to be one of the first fifteen nationally demonstrated, higher vocational colleges, by the Education Ministry of China. The college is authorized to conduct the training and examination for CAAC Aircraft Maintenance License, the training for IATA License, Air-transport Agents Qualification, and BEC Qualification.

The college is located at the South Gate area of Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport. The total area of the college is about 26.67 acre (162mu) and another additional newly purchased 33 acre (200mu) in the new airport. The college's building area is 1,076,047 sq. ft. The college has a full-time enrollment of 3000 students. The faculty is comprised of 300 teachers. The College owns over 50 laboratories equipped with over RMB 100 million of facilities which include retired aircrafts, aircraft engines, navigation, radar, security inspection, video & audio teaching equipment. The College provides an excellent e-learning environment with 100- mega-width intranet, about 600,000 volumes of books and e-books, 6000 Chinese and overseas periodicals. We are very proud of our team of high competent faculties. Most of them are master degrees holders, associate professors and senior engineers with hands-on working experience. For the more, the College invites the professionals from government and companies to be the counselor of the Academic Counseling Committee, visiting professors or visiting lecturers.

The college focuses on establishing close relationship with other colleges, local and international airlines. The college has already sent over 200 faculties to visit and study in the airlines and colleges overseas such as Britain, the United States, Japan, Canada, Australia, Germany, Canada, etc. There are 23 instructors who have been awarded FAA Aircraft Maintenance License. With its well-organized as well as flexible system for international cooperation, the college has run two joint programs - Traveling and Tourism Management and CET with Seneca College of Applied Art & Technology, one joint program - Aircraft Maintenance with Canadore College of Applied Art & Technology, and one joint program - Aircraft Maintenance Engineering with Hong Kong Institute of Vocational Education (Tsing Yi) . The last joint program is for providing graduates for airlines in HK.
