Teachers College is situated in Fuyang City, the central city in the Northwest Anhui Province. It is a city which has a long cultural history. Some Chinese historic cultural elites like Guanzi, Laozi, zhuangzi, Caocao, Caopi, Caozhi, Ou Yangxiou, Sushi, Zenggong were born or lived here. The college is close to the ancient Yingzhou West Lake, Beijing-Kwoloo Railway Mashalling Station, and 4c Grade Airport which is convenient in transformation and excellent environment.

The college was founded in 1956. In 1977. It began enrolling four-year students. In 1978 it was ratified by the Nation Council as the present name---Fuyang Teachers College and grew into one of the first colleges and universities to have the right of issuing the bechelors' degree.
