Teaching deaf, non-verbal, illiterate man
By:Mary Woodward <mwoodward1968@hotmail.com>

I've been asked to give time and "teach" a middle-aged man from Bhutan who is deaf, non-verbal, and illiterate in his own language. So far we have done OK with me miming, and taking photos of him in different scenarios. Now I need to teach him to count....he can only count to five using his fingers, and I'm not sure if he really "gets" it, or is just trying to please me. He is a very pleasant gentleman. Anybody with really creative ideas about this??? Thanks!
