ESL Teaching and Learning Tips
Here is something I prepared a while ago and still use today with my teachers that I work with and supervise:
The "creative teacher” is one who is not afraid to take risks, is willing to
experiment and try new things, and is one who infuses creativity in their
teaching and "thinks outside the box."
This teacher is open to using new ideas, and makes
sure to use numerous fun, hands-on learning activities with their students.
These activities would include experiments, role-play, simulations, cooperative learning activities, group projects, technology (internet research and PowerPoint presentations) as a way for students to demonstrate their understanding of the material and concepts. The teacher is not a lecturer but more of a "facilitator" who probes and asks students questions that require them to use the higher level thinking strategies from Bloom's Taxonomy of analysis, evaluation and application.
