Had not thought about that in a while huh. Right now you are feeling safe and secured because you are expecting your check to arrive as usual. It is a wonderful thing until one day you show up at work and find out that it is your last day. Do not think it can happen to you? Here is what happened to my best friend recently.

Three months before her job contract expired she began submitting resumes both online and offline. On her last day of work we celebrated her liberation because we were confident that although she did not have a secured job yet she would be landing one really soon. After all she would already done a few interviews and had a few more lined up.

Four months later living on borrowed cash my best friend is still seeking employment. She went from being an administrative secretary who ate lunch at upscale cafes to doing street team promotions a few days a week and eating off the dollar menu just to survive.

Another story of a couple that recently relocated from one state to another to accept a job. As it turns out, after they had sold their house and belongings, they did not get the job as promised. (Make sure you have a signed contract before relocating for a job) Now, this family is living with friends doing odd jobs to survive until a job is secured.

I always hearing ambitious ones describe a job as 'Just Over Broke'. But even for those who are business minded, a job can keep one financially secure as they try to build a business to supplement an income. A job is not to be despised, but considering the fact that you do not own your job, know that your job is not truly secure and it's important to have a backup plan in mind.
