I am a twenty-one-year-old native English speaker and UK citizen with certifications in Teaching English as a Foreign Language. I have dedicated my time and efforts over the last four years to studying and working in the TEFL field, and I am continually looking to develop myself as a language teacher so I can offer my students the best possible quality and experience learning English. I am a passionate and highly motivated teacher who enjoys providing a satisfying learning experience for students, which is why I aim to continue pursuing employment in this field.

My teaching certifications include a recently completed bachelor’s degree in TESOL and Linguistics (joint honours) at York St John University, where I had the unique opportunity to study English language learners in-depth and how I can apply this and linguistic knowledge of English to the practical world of English language teaching across the globe. Through my passion and hard work for the subject, I achieved the highest degree classification possible: a first-class.

Similarly, I have recently completed the internationally recognised Cambridge University CELTA course, where I trained in all the recent English language teaching methodologies and incorporated these into six hours of live, assessed teaching practice to students from around the world. I also worked as a team with my fellow teacher trainees to plan and successfully deliver synchronised lessons to our students. Again, through my hard work and passion for teaching English, I was able to consistently deliver outstanding lessons and written assignments which earned me the highest grade possible: a pass A, which only a very small percentage of trainees obtain.

Although I have been engaged in full-time study for the past four years, I have keenly undertaken a variety of different English teaching positions both in the UK and Japan which have given me invaluable experience in the TEFL field, and have allowed me to develop as a teacher and achieve what I have. During these experiences I have taught a wide range of students. This range includes students of various ages, different abilities, different needs and different class sizes. I have taught both adults and children who were studying English for a variety of purposes in small-medium groups and one-on-one; I have taught at both independent language schools and in a university setting; I have taught both with the guidance of a textbook and without – where I successfully designed my own lessons from scratch to meet the needs of my students.

With my dedication, hard work, passion and enthusiasm for teaching English, which are evidenced in my achievements and can be echoed by my academic and employer references; I believe I would be a valuable member of any English organisation as I look to develop my skills in further employment.
