PERSONAL PROFILE

I am a highly skilled and perfectly fluent native English speaker. I have a great love and enthusiasm for our
language and I write regularly. In general, I am interested in people from other cultures.
I have extensive experience preparing non-English speaking students for their courses in the colleges and the
universities in the UK and have been teaching private and company classes in Madrid center and Donostia since I
arrived in Spain in October of 2009.
I graduated from University of Luton in 2001 with a BA in Media Performance which involved acting training,
writing for performance, presentation skills, film studies, and direction.
I am a self-taught performer and inventor of sleight of hand close-up magic, which I have accomplished to a very
high degree. I also lecture at local magic clubs (in the UK) and run creative workshops showing other magicians
how to invent their own sleight of hand magic using a structured approach which is my own design.
Before moving to Madrid I spent the previous seven years working in sales for Bensons for Beds and Carpetright
thereby acquiring invaluable experience in business which has been invaluable in teaching business English in
Madrid and Donostia. In my last selling position, I was running a store on my own dealing with all the tasks and
challenges that it involved. This required that I be consistently self-motivated, tirelessly multitasking, well
presented and dependable. During this period I maintained my role as a voluntary English preparation teacher in
evening classes in the local University and colleges.
My job involved dealing with customers, clients, colleagues, and management of diverse international setting;
therefore, exceptional interpersonal skills were essential in order to establish good working relationships with all
parties involved.
