HELLO EVERYBODY!!!
My name is Daria Volkova. I’m 27. I live in Barnaul (Altai region, Russia). I was really excited to find your posting for an English as a Second Language teacher! It is a great opportunity for me to develop my personality and explore new cross-cultural communication opportunities. I am sure that I would make an excellent addition to your teaching team because of my passion for helping students, my teaching and cultural experiences, and my qualifications.
I’ve been teaching ESL to beginner, intermediate, and advanced students of various ages in Barnaul since 2005. That was my first year at Altai State University. I’ve graduated from it with my Specialist’s degree in International Affairs in 2011. During my studying, I went to Brooklyn (New York, the USA) (2010-2012) where I was managing a restaurant and improving my English with the native speakers and at the public library’s classes.
As for today, I have around 35 students (from 7 to 54 y. o.), whom I teach at my own office in groups and individually as well. I also work with kids aging from 2,5 up to 5 years old in the day-care center in my city. Altogether, I have more than 10 years of experience as a private tutor and a school teacher. Through my teaching experiences, I developed critical pedagogic and classroom management skills, along with a passion for teaching English.
During the class, my students enjoy Englis through interactive, student-centered activities that maximize “student talk time.” Usually my lessons include a lot of pair and group work, as well as movement around the classroom. By engaging students in speaking, grammar, writing, listening, and reading I help them improve their accuracy and fluency across key skill areas.
So, for me it’s time to move further and open the world from the other side. After I came back from the USA, I realized that life is very short and you have to explore and enjoy it as much as you can! That’s why I think moving to China with it’s great history, beautiful language and fascinating culture is a great opportunity for me and my family to take our life up to the next level and enjoy all its beauty!
I'd be thrilled to join a team of globally-minded educators dedicated to high-quality language instruction! I hope that you will consider my application and I would welcome a phone/Skype call or email so that we might be able to set up an interview (my CV is in the Annex below). If you need any further information then please do not hesitate to contact me. I thank you for your time and I look forward to hearing from you.
Sincerely yours,
Daria Volkova
P.S.: I’m ready to start on the 1st of December
