My name is Mark Anderson and I have 4+ years of experience teaching in Korea as an English teacher. I currently live in Anyang and am teaching at the Hogye Elementary school. I have both experience teaching in private academies and public school. As a private school teacher I learned to make detailed lesson plans and create interesting activities for students as part of class. In public school, I have learned how to plan events and programs such as summer or winter camp sessions. I also learned how to teach in a more structured environment with larger classes and cooperate with a co-teacher.

In my previous private school experiences, my job was to teach students that ranged in grade level from first grade through high school. I am familiar with the behaviors and attitudes of each student level and can plan my classes accordingly. My private school experience has also taught me how to effectively maintain classroom discipline and create a stable working environment for my students. While in public school I was introduced to the material that students had to study as part of the government mandated curriculum and was able to plan my lessons or activities around that curriculum. While in Hogye Elementary the grade levels I was hired to teach were the fourth, fifth, and sixth grades.

In addition to my 4 years of experience teaching English, I also managed the art club at my school which I also created. During which I helped the students with creative projects and provided my experience as a professional artist. My other skills include familiarity and proficient ability with the Microsoft office suite including programs like Powerpoint or Word. I am also at an advanced level when it comes to video editing and design software. The latter skills have been useful in school events and special activities.
