Due to my past accomplishments and experiences with volunteer teaching in Hong Kong, and because of my keen interest in the country of South Korea and its culture, I believe that I would be a very strong and viable candidate for a teaching positions and I am confident that I would be a positive addition to your faculty. I very much enjoy working with children from different cultures and backgrounds and my recent work in Hong Kong allowed me the privilege to enjoy a wonderful teaching experience. As mentioned, I already have experience teaching abroad in Hong Kong where I worked with young learners. My teaching position in Hong Kong allowed me the opportunity to obtain my 120-hour TEFL / TESOL certificate along with an additional 50-hour certificate that specializes in teaching English to young students. Because of my keen interest to teach within South Korea and because I believe that I have strong teaching skills working with children from different cultures and backgrounds, I hope that you will closely consider me for a position with your company. As for my academic background, I studied four years at the University of Oklahoma where I specifically focused on Anthropology and Culture. I spent the final year of study at the University of Oklahoma living in Hong Kong SAR studying how to adapt to a new environment and culture. There I attended City University of Hong Kong where I was involved with English mentoring programs and worked with local Chinese and Mainland Chinese students (ranging from 14-20 years old) who wished to further their English speaking skills. The time spent in Hong Kong SAR has shown me that I have the ability to adapt easily to a new environment that is culturally and environmentally different than my own. I am convinced that my previous experiences in another country will greatly contribute to my ability to work well with students as well as colleagues in South Korea.
