An Overview of Where to Visit in Turkey
By:Olivia Neate

Turkey has a combination of rich cultural heritage, amazing cuisine, vibrant coastal resorts and a genuinely warm reception from its people and just a 4 hour flight from London. Together, all of this makes Turkey a must visit holiday hot spot.

Antalya Region
Turkey's Antalya region, is on the very sunny south coast and is fast becoming one of Turkey's most popular regions to visit. Antalya's 630km shoreline boasts some of the cleanest beaches in Turkey, many with secluded coves with a lush forest backdrop. Great deals on beach hotels are available all year round and the Manavgat resort is highly recommended.

Dalaman Region
The Turquoise Coast, officially known as the Lycian Coast is famous for its turquoise coloured water and white sandy beaches. The Lycian Coast also features classical ruins and the beautiful Taurus Mountains. There are many bargain hotels available in this region, many of which are all inclusive. Dalaman has an average of 320 days of constant sunshine per year, so the chances of your holiday being ruined by rain are unlikely.

Bodrum Peninsula
On the coastline of the Aegean Sea the Bodrum Peninsula is surrounded by 32 islands and islets and forms a 174 km long coastline. The Bodrum Peninsula has a great nightlife with trendy bars and nightclubs. This is a great place for a family holiday and many all inclusive hotels in this area offer a range of watersports such as glass bottomed boat rides to jet-skiing and snorkeling.

Izmir
Izmir on the Aegean Coast is Turkey's third largest city and boasts both white beaches and ancient ruins. Izmir has a mild climate, rich in culture and the home of the ancient cities of Ephesus and Troy. The city hosts an international arts festival during June and July and there are many modern luxurious hotels and resorts in this area which are perfect for a romantic getaway. When visiting Turkey you will find the locals friendly and accommodating. Turkey is a modern country with a rich culture and history. Whether you're after a relaxing beach holiday, fun filled family holiday or a romantic getaway Turkey really does have something for everyone.
