Cairo, Egypt - Charming Yet Crowded
By:David Dutton

Do you love the hustle and bustle of a big city? If so, Cairo will definitely be on your visitor's list. This is a city with 7000 years of history just waiting for visitors. The heart of the city was developed in the 1800s. The vast number of hotels, theaters, shops, restaurants and apartments have been constructed with the thought of preserving the old as well as developing the new.

When considering the museums that can require several hours to explore, be prepared to spend some time the Egyptian Museum and Abdeen Palace. But there are many more. There is no lack of historical features in this city. Culture and history abound and each district is a distinct part of the history.

For example, the center of the city sometimes known as 'Coptic Cairo' is an area that many believe was originally settled in the 6th Century BCE. In this area you will find many Egyptian Monophysite Christian churches. The Ben Ezra Synagogue is also located here and is the oldest known synagogue in Egypt.

For those who are interested in the mystique of Egypt, this is definitely an area worth exploring. The Babylon Fort is another ancient Roman building you will find of interest. The towers are a point of interest and in addition, the ruins of Fustat, a city of old are near enough to explore as well.

I hope you received some great information about Cairo. It is really an amazing place to visit with your family or friends.
