A Must Visit Place in Paris - Chateau De Versailles Castle

Paris is a hotspot for tourists from across the world where one not only finds historical monuments and parks and museums but also royal ventures. One such royal manor place is situated in the Île-de-France region of France and is called the Palace of Versailles or famously known as Château de Versailles. With great piece of architecture and brilliant interior designing, a visit to this place is worth every penny.

Originally a hunting lodge, it was built in 1624, many great figures such as Louis XIV had immense interest in Varsailles and eventually it became the residence of the Sun King and his Court. The main attractions at the Château de Versailles are Hall of Mirrors, King's State Bedroom, Chappell Royal and the Queen's Bedroom. The ground floor is reserved for the use of court and the first floor for the royal family.

The Hall of Mirrors, which is a fantastic multi-mirrored room, was famous for hosting a number of important events. The vast Gardens of Varsailles which is spread in an approximate area of 8 sq km is one of the best examples of Garden la française in French Garden design. The garden comprises of attractive statues and sculptures and famous buildings like Grand Trianon and Petit Trianon, hamlet of Queen Marie-Antoinette, Temple de l'Amour. Within the Chateau there are a large number of rooms which house an amazing and rare collection of antiques. The beautiful canal is also another feature of attraction here. The architecture style of the 17th and the 18th Century can be clearly observed.

Apart from gardens and canals, the place has a special night attraction at the Royal Garden of Louis XIV which turns into a musical and visual venture. The ponds and the groves are filled with water, color and light. The artists perform different kind of shows by light and laser. Before the night show at the garden, there are groups of musicians and dancers which perform the round ball in The Hall of Mirrors. The show has a beautiful touch of the nature as the last rays of he sun touch the hall and the performers begin their show under the blaze of gold.

There are shuttle services and bicycle services, so that people who aren't willing to see the large park on foot can avail them. The day pass to as Château de Versailles costs 16€ and the entry is free for children below the age of 10. If one wants to visit this place by air, the nearest airports are Paris Orly Airport or the Charles de Gaulle Airport. To get here by bus, one needs to get in Bus 171.
