Paris' Moulin Rouge
By:Collaborator

The venue that originated the striptease, the Moulin Rouge in Paris was made famous at the turn of the 19th century by the paintings of Toulouse-Lautrec. The Moulin Rouge is still a popular tourist destination today, with shows featuring striptease acts, musical revues and the famous can-can. Located near Montmartre, it is recognizable by the red windmill atop the building. To visit the Moulin Rouge, follow these steps.

Book a lunch and a matinée. The Moulin Rouge offers lunch and shows on specific dates, usually in winter and spring. The performance price includes a half bottle of champagne.

Attend a matinée. If cost is an issue, book the matinée show only; a half bottle of champagne is still included. The matinées are only on specific dates. Check for availability.

Consider dinner and the evening show. Dinner is at 7 p.m., and the menu consists of both fixed-price dinners and a la carte menu items. A half bottle of champagne is included in the dinner and show price.

Chose a show only. Both the early-evening and late shows offer tickets for the show only. Ticket price includes a half bottle of champagne.

Visit the gift shop. The Moulin Rouge gift shop is open Tuesday through Saturday during the day and is located near the Moulin Rouge. There is another gift shop in the Toulouse-Lautrec Lounge open only during show times.
