Off the southeastern coast of Spain lies the island of Majorca, surrounded by stunning beaches and clear waters. The community of Alcudia on the northeastern side of this vacation resort island caters to the tourist with every attraction and luxury imaginable, including the ability to swim with the dolphins in and out of the Mediterranean Sea.

Take a trip to Marineland in Costa D’en Blanes for the best chance to swim with the dolphins anywhere near Alcudia, and that’s only if you’re lucky enough to get picked. During each dolphin show, some lucky child gets picked to sit on a raft and get pulled around by the dolphins. There are no other dolphin swimming opportunities available unless it’s sheer luck.

Go where the dolphins are when looking to swim with them, which means the Mediterranean Sea. It increases the chance of seeing them and then swimming with them.

Swim in the sea from June through October, when the water is warmest.

Rent or bring your own scuba-diving or snorkeling equipment and explore more than six miles of beaches along Alcudia. Curious dolphins may approach, but do not count on it.

Charter a yacht or sailboat or take a yacht cruise out of Puerto Alcudia. Sail around the island of Majorca and, when you spot dolphins, with permission of the captain, jump into the sea for a swim to say you swam with the dolphins in Alcudia.

Choose any water sport that takes you out on the sea, into the habitat where dolphins are. If dolphins wish to swim with you, they will.
