Cannes is one of the most beautiful and picturesque cities of the French Riviera. It is known for its beautiful tourist attractions but something which brings the word 'Cannes' into the mind of any person in the world is the famous 'Cannes Film Festival' held here each year. Palais des Festivals et des Congres -
It is the site where the famous Cannes Film Festival is held every year. Even when the festival has been done with, one can quite easily imagine and feel the glamour that this place is associated with. Once here, make sure you stop at the convention center, which hosts many events round the year. You can find many handprints of some of the famous celebrities embedded in flagstones just outside the building, which must not be missed.
Musee de la Castre -
Built in 1952, it has now been changed to an attractive museum with a number of delicate artwork. Situated near the previous chateau of the Lerins Isles, one can reach the top of the castle tower for a spectacular look of the Cannes below. You can find paintings of some of the local artists which present 'the Cannes of 19th century'. You can also find a set of nearly 200 musical instruments here.
La Croissette -
It is a stunning walkway which completely augments the glamour Cannes has. Here you will find many billboards sponsoring the Cannes Film Festival. Also you will find coffee shops and shops with beautiful souvenirs which are must buy. And the beach side of La Croissette is the perfect place for refreshment.
lIe St Marguerite (St Marguerite Island) -
It is a very beautiful island of Cannes and the largest among the Lérins Islands, which takes 15 minutes by boat from Cannes. This is famous for the 'Fort Royale' where the French king imprisoned his twin brother in fear of losing his crown. The legend of the 'Man in the Iron Mask' starts here.
Musee de la Mer -
It is a different museum which presents the prison arrangement and underwater archaeology collections. The museum is dedicated to the strange 'Man in the Iron Mask'.

There are a number of museums in the city. Some of the famous museums of Cannes are the following.
Fragonard Museum -It was constructed in 1600s, now it is known as one of the oldest perfumeries of France. There is an old factory of perfume making which gives the entire history of perfume making process.
Malmaison Museum -It is situated in a mansion of 19th century. It presents beautiful art work of Cannes history.
Musee de la Marine - It was constructed in the memory of Admiral Francois-Joseph Paul. There are 30 model ships are in the museum.
Musee de la Photographie -It is located near the Saint - Jacques Majeur Church. It is the best place for photography lovers. It exhibits art work of various renowned French artists. The photograph exhibits are in both color and black and white. It has also a collection of 'Pablo Picasso' photographs developed by a number of photographers.
