I'm a monolingual ESL teacher who would like to learn other languages. I already know a little Spanish and French, but I would like to improve my conversational language ability. It's still very difficult for me to understand what people are saying in these languages just by listening, although I can do it with Spanish. I think I still need a lot of practice with French. I'm also open to learning to speak, and maybe even write, Arabic and Farsi, as a lot of the students I work with speak these languages. Then again, there is a significant Asian population here as well, so knowing Japanese or Korean would definitely come in handy. Chinese is an option, too, but I've found the tones a little too difficult to master.
