The topic should be treated from a more neutral perspective, and for myself, I could not care less. It seems that only theologically conservative Christians and other religious fundamentalists have a problem with it. In truth, there are more important problems in this world than a trivial topic like this, and I would not waste m time and energy on this.

True, but others do care about issues such as these. I personally do not have a problem with it, but I don't believe things should be censored or swept under the carpet. I just wonder why you consider this a trivial topic, when you consider things like the Scouts (an organisation that does a lot of good for young people, regardless of religious views) to be forced to accept homosexuals. They seem intent to destroy organisations or bend them to their ways, that is also a form of extremism, as is calling straight people "breeders".
