I agree construction workers in the west are better off than ESL teachers in China.

A few of my brothers mates back home are all gas fitters, builders, electricians and the like, and they can afford to go to places like Abu Dhabi, Australia and Thailand for holidays/trips. ESL teachers in China simply don't have that luxury, unless retired and/or wealthy.
