Most people will end up making 8-13 thousand RMB a month

I must disagree with you. More like 7,000 - 8,000 RMB without moonlighting. Of course, moonlighting is illegal without prior consent from the sponsoring employer.

State-run unis and colleges tend to pay less, but the teaching hours can be a mere 16 classes a week. A walk in the park! AndEY loads of free time! Money ain't everything!
