In response to Beware posts by ANY government agency (TheCFTWatchers)

We recently saw a post that was referring to information by the American consulate in Beijing regarding inflated salaries and hourly rates. Readers need to remember that the U.S. and every other country that has a consulate in Beijing has a "non-interference and a non-defamation" agreement in the guidelines of the contract that must be adhered to in order to have an embassy there. And more than likely the Beijing government reached out to the consulate because of the monstrous shortage of teachers available to China this year. Estimates regarding the labor pool of teachers available to China this year is anywhere from 70-80 percent less than five years ago. As far as salaries go after sampling a huge collection of emails and watching the offers on English Teachers in China #2 on Wechat the AVERAGE is 5000-8000 RMB per month. If someone is making more than the occasional $3,000 per month please respond to this posting with edited copies of your bank statements from your school or training center. Additionally most of the emails and postings declare salaries in upwards to 16,000 RMB per month but when contacted these outfits poo-poo'd this information saying that the salaries are ACTUALLY around 8,000 -10,000 per month with MONTHLY INCENTIVES. FYI the salaries that offer monthly incentives are ALWAYS the base salary and good luck getting your incentives. Most schools come up with created teacher issues such as "the students or parents don't like you" or "the students don't understand you" as excuses. Persons reading this website need to remember to RESEARCH, RESEARCH, and more RESEARCH. Either do your due diligence or prepare to get burned or abused.

Thank you so much for your excellent post!
