In response to China's 5 Year Rule, more crap! (Observer)
Unlike the UAE, China does not really have a practice of allowing foreigners to settle indefinitely. A chinese buys a house/sets up a business in Spain/Portugal, they get an EU passport, and a preferential tax rate for the first four years or something like that. Compare that with a foreign businessman trying to set up in China, and nothing but headaches, even if you bought an apartment. There should be something like a longer investment and or property ownership visa. By jove, there is a good idea, but it won't make it into the heads of the donuts in charge of entry-exit!
