Probably a lot of truth in stuff like that. The indians do make a nice cup of tea though, add a bit of ginger and/or masala powder to give it some zing I think, makes it a bit warming, but good for winter. It's reasons like the heat that makes things like Vimto taste a bit different in those places, had to add extra syrup to the ingredients ensure it could survive the long hot boat journey out there, and that it would "keep" better in the bottle. As you say, the Indians have copied some of our curry recipes, although I do believe tikka masala was the result of a chef in England adding some milk or something to cool a curry down, different background stories I am sure on that one, but a lot of sense in what you say Taffy.
