A noob FT in a Shanxi county has asked me about this. He loves Indian super-hot curries, such as Tindaloo, Vindaloo and Madras.

Very good news for him!

Some MUSLIM/HUI restaurants in China have curries on their menus. Chicken curries or beef curries or both may be available . The restaurants where you can eat curries will be medium-sized to large. They will likely have a green or a blue banner with a crescent moon and a minaret outside. After entering, you should ask for Jaalinuro/Jaalijiro, or Kaalinuro/Kaalijiro. Jaali/Kaali means curry, while nuro means beef and jiro means chicken.

However, the curries won't be as hot as hot Indian curries. You should order some fried red chillis as a side-dish to increase the hotness of the curries. Mix in the chillis with the curry before dining. Expect to pay at least 20 RMB for a curry. A bowl of rice, if you requirw one, will be extra.
