In response to Re "Lost in translation" (jake)

The thing that drives me crazy about China. You can't say what you want. You can't teach what
you know is true. You can't post what you want on the internet.
China's middle name should be silence.

Rubbish!
Lock the classroom door, close the windows and close the curtains!
If the students are old enough, see you as being 'human', and respect you, then they'll be using 'fuck you' in no time.
Chinese kids are wrapped in 'cotton-wool' since birth, yet are all gagging to escape that 'blanket'. Give them the opportunity and it will pay dividends - as long as your boss doesn't find out, lol.

I've been teaching grade 10 and 11 for two years - what's said in the classroom STAYS in the classroom! I've had bosses as well as head-teachers come into my class and I've thrown them out. It's MY class, (and the students know and respect it), so F*ck them!
It may sound 'cocky', but I learn something every time I teach them, yet more importantly, they learn something too - so I'm doing my 'job'.
