Chinese are proud of their academic accomplishments in English as my local colleagues prove that every day. Their masters from a higher educational institution in Beijing override my lowly postgraduate education from outside China, because they know what's necessary to feed Chinese students with. Now, I don't know about all the heroes you're refering to but I guess they're itching to join the discussion.
