If you are not Christian, you can console yourself with Horatio Alger/ Ayn Rand philosophy where the best and the brightest win their wealth by superior effort and intelligence.

Be prepared for lots of special interest money being spent on media attention (attached) to the importance of hard work and education in becoming rich, even though the strongest characteristic of modern wealth now is parental wealth.
