I agree that most people in the UK or Australia never even think of China. It has no effect
on their lives and no meaning for them. Brit's and Aussies rarely think of Asia, unless
they are planning a holiday in Thailand or Bali.

Agree. China is NEVER on their list of 'must-go-to' places.

question might be, "Why do you want to live in a communist country?".

It is, and that, once again, is possibly due to the Western media constantly referring to China as 'Communist China'. It makes people in the West feel like it's North Korea where tourists are chaperoned 100% of the time. Ridiculous.
