I truly admire a guy who can do tiling. Like a marriage, it always starts with good intentions, choosing an area in the middle of the room for the first tile, and tiling out from there. But it ends up all mis-aligned and the whole thing has to be scraped off the floor at great cost. And restarted by another guy.

If there are connecting rooms (i.e. they have a tile doorway or a hallway in common), and if the tiles end up out of alignment at the edge of one room at that common area, then they will start out of alignment in the second room. It's a nightmare.

But well installed tiles are my favorite floor covering: Easy to clean, ecological.
