Hey, I'm still here myself and loving it. I have a great job in China.
But it hasn't always been the case.
Living and working in China can indeed be great. But you do have to be very, very careful. I would suggest treating a new school as you would a strange snake: assume it is poisonous until you're absolutely sure it isn't.
Being too trusting is MUCH more likely to cause you grief in a Chinese school than being slightly paranoid is likely to do...
I'd also be extra careful of recruiters, who can pop up in all sorts of guises and places.
