While visiting a school, many FTs accept FAOs` invitation to live in a foreign teacher`s flat on campus. Next day, the FAO will treat the FT like an employee although he/she hasn`t signed the contract yet. Why not telling the FAO: " Thanks for showing me my future flat, classrooms and campus, but I can`t accept your invitation. I would like to spend the night in a decent hotel ( 80-150RMB/night-the price depends on the province )
What can happen if you live on campus but you don`t sign the contract with the school next day ?
1) The FAO might charge you more than a hotel`s manager
2 )If you run away with the key from the school`s flat, the FAO might ask the police to track you down in China. In such a case, the FT must contact the Provincial Working Association for Foreign Experts immediately.
