Turnoi says:If they want FTs, the question is whether FTs want them and... to work for them. I would rather not.
Instead, get a decent job with a reputable school where your hard work makes real sense.....

But that depends upon whether one can get a decent job at a reputable school. That's sth that is maybe outwith one's control. It depends a lot on the employer.Would you have FT's who are currently working in China for rubbishy employers because their qualifications are not so good go back to their homelands and serve fast food in Mcdonald's?Remember that employers aren't infallible when it comes to choosing the best candidates to fill their vacancies, especially Chinese ones. It's often a subjective procedure, often governed too much by paper qualifications.
Maybe YOU can pick and choose, but many others cannot.
Racism also comes into play here. That's why Yuncheng is like little Africa. It's somewhere that,by and large, whites don't want to go to,but blacks will be happy to accept. The law of supply and demand.
A Chinese employment agent once told me that Chinese employers start off being very picky as regards the foreign teachers they wish to employ, but if they have no foreigner hired,or a foreigner who has let them down after they have chosen him(or her) near the start of a new term, they will take the first one available, even with an unsuitable visa. And the better schools here often have to do so.
Don't trust Chinese employers to choose the best teacher. You know, many Chinese teachers still think there are only two kinds of English in the world,London and American! How wrong they are!
