I couldn't agree with you more.
I regard recruiting agencies as mere go-betweens or middlemen, and as such, they are unnecessary. Most of them are dishonest. Even worse, they don't care if their services put square pegs into round holes or if they introduce you to disreputable educational establishments. Their first priority is to make money by selling you!
