Silverboy made a good point in his post by mentioning that the higher wage for that job may have been offered because a low percentage of teachers would be inclined to work in such an out of the way place. Truthfully, though, had I known what an enjoyable experience it would be, I would have worked for less. Nevertheless, we can't operate on hindsight. Nor can we make an accurate prediction about the suitability of a potential job. Our only real option, then, is to negotiate a wage that is suitable for both parties. If an employer can't recognize the value you can bring to their school - based on your qualifications and/or experience - it would be wise to look elsewhere.

Another thing to consider is that middle school jobs are generally quite labor intensive. Most of them have at least 65 students per class and that in itself can be quite challenging.
