I am very interesting in teaching ESL in Korea. I have been reading that you need to have a criminal background check in order to get a visa. I have several minor misdemeanors, mostly dating back more than seven years ago. Will this prevent me from obtaining a visa? Does the record have to be squeaky clean, or are they just looking mostly for felonies and major crimes?
