Relative Newbie - 2010-03-28

I'm sticking to my guns on this one, Turnoi. I'll post later what the outcome is. I'm almost certain I'll get my RP without having to take a medical.
You have failed to realiize that the employer has screwed up by offering me a contract that has been signed by both parties with no 'Subject To Passing a Medical' clause. That means I needn't take one, and I won't.
As for being forced to take another medical after first arriving from abroad on a Z visa, one is entitled to refuse if there are no serious grounds for concern re one's health in the medical report from abroad, that has been completed by your doctor on a Chinese/English medical form. The law in China is that such a medical is valid for 90 days, that's the only reason for having to take another one, apart from the poor health reason I've already specified!
Too many laowei who come here try to be people pleasers, and allow themselves to be bossed around. You can see I'm not one of them.
