It's not just the silly things that some people will say about the world they live in which shows us their character, or lack thereof. It's also the blatant nonsense spoken out of their mouths. It's as if for the last 5,000 years they've been around watching the people and seeing how they have lived or something. Ultimately the hole that they've dug themselves into is what's keeping them from seeing the whole picture. It's annoying but at the same time a little sad.
