Welcome to the forum! This web-site has plenty of useful and interesting information for ESL teachers and students. It sounds like you are quite a creative person yourself!

Being able to create and produce your own audio recordings places you at a definite advantage within ESL teaching. The opportunities to develop your own materials are endless.

As you can already see, your talent was immediately recognized during your recent interview. Perhaps this is the first step- the initial training period for you- where you learn about the ropes of the industry. Unfortunately, I am not knowledgeable about this particular technical recording side of ESL; however, as an ESL teacher, I certainly believe that it is a most valuable part.

What are your plans? Do you have the desire to work on producing your own curriculum (written text & audio), or do you only wish to focus on the audio side?
